Puerto Vallarta is located on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the Jalisco state it has a fairly large population of around 200,000+ people. When most of us think of Puerto Vallarta we think of warm golden beaches. We think of high energy crazy fun nightlife, usually with a lot of tequila.
Acapulco is far from a sleepy beach town. It’s full of life bustling around you. There’s a ton of traffic and people from all walks of life. So if your looking to relax in some off the beaten track beach this is not the place. However if your looking to enjoy a fast paced fun high energy town you will really enjoy Acapulco.
The Basilica de La Inmaculada Concepción of Mazatlan
I decided to take a day trip into Mazatlan’s Historic Centro or the big “C” as Jeff likes to call it. At one of Mazatlan’s most loved catholic churches it is a place not to be missed. Originally the cathedral was begun by the order of Bishop Pedro Lorez starting in 1856. In 1899 priest Miguel Lacarra finished the work. The Basilica consecration took place on December 12, 1941. Giving the Basilica de la Inmaculada Concepción special ceremonie privileges given by the pope.
As I’ve traveled through Mexico i have seen that the homeless animal problems are very prevalent In some towns the population of animals to people is 2 to 1. There are very few programs here to help these staving, ill and lonely animals. Sadly in many towns the strays are ignored, beaten, and even killed. While there are some people that will feed them, for the most part these animals will never be made a part of their families or ever know what love is.
